HISSIFIT (Julia Rose Duray, Andrea Negrete and Vanessa Pereda-Felix) perform an underground punk rock show as part of the band’s story, presented by The Cradle Theatre Company at MooseLab Work Space in DUMBO, Brooklyn.

By Andrew Andrews

When we arrived at the door and were offered a pair of complimentary earplugs, we knew we weren’t in for the typical sort of play. We should have seen it coming, when we had trouble finding the theater entrance among a row of nondescript doors. We should have caught the hint, descending the rusty stairs to the thousand-year-old basement, opening the only (unmarked) door that would give way, to be greeted by a series of long, narrow corridors lined with green tape pointing the way for The Cradle Theatre Company’s HISSIFIT. We should have had some idea, reading the synopsis before we even left home, warned that the show would be standing room only. But up until we entered the so-called "theater," we really had no idea.
